Three would-be thieves were allegedly caught red-handed in Chemainus after a neighbour alerted police to what he thought was suspicious activity.
At about 4 a.m. Wednesday, a woman was seen walking up and down the road looking into driveways while a car was parked nearby with a lone male sitting inside.
A third male then appeared and, along with the other two, started loading stuff into the vehicle from the driveways they were emerging from.
North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP arrested the three suspects including a 20-year old woman from Chemainus and a 32-year old man from Cobble Hill.
Both were released and will appear in court at a later date.
Police also arrested Designated Prolific Offender, 31-year old Steven Sharonowski.
He was released with several conditions including maintaining a curfew.
The trio will face a Provincial Court Judge accused of multiple counts of Break and Enter & Commit an Indictable Offence as well as Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.
