The Federal Labour Minister announced a tentative deal has been struck between Canada Post and its postal workers Tuesday afternoon
Some big news on the labour front late today as there is a tentative deal between Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers.
The Federal Labour Minister announced the agreement this afternoon saying it had been reached voluntarily but provided no other details about the deal.
The two sides had been in talks around the clock with a mediator since Friday when the union representing a majority of Canada Post employees had given a 72-hour strike notice.
That deadline had been extended twice as negotiations continued.
A deal will end the threat of labour unrest that had loomed for months.
