Shamrocks defeat Lakers 12-10, take 3-1 series lead

CHEK

The Victoria Shamrocks took down the Burnaby Lakers by a final score of 12-10 at the Q Centre this evening, as they take a 3-1 series lead.

It wasn’t the start Victoria was looking for, as Burnaby’s Robert Church would score just 38 seconds into the game, and Burnaby would jump out to an early 2-0 lead. Luckily, the Shamrocks would score 6 unanswered goals between the second half of the 1st period and the early minutes of the second frame. The two teams would trade goals back and forth throughout the second and third periods, but Joe Resetarits would score the game winning goal late in the third, and Danny Smith would score a highlight reel gaol in the final seconds to give the Shamrocks the 12-10 win and a 3-1 series lead. The series now shifts back to Burnaby, as the Lakers will host the Shamrocks for Game 5 on the mainland on Friday night. If the Shamrocks win on Friday, they will win the series and advance to the WLA Final.
