WATCH: Two men who tragically drowned at Weston Lake on Salt Spring Island last week have now been identified
The coroner has now released the identities of two men who drowned at Weston Lake on Salt Spring Island last week.
A group of three men were vacationing on Salt Spring Island when two of them got into trouble while swimming at Weston Lake, a small lake near Ruckle Provincial Park.
The two men had to be pulled from the water and later died.
They’ve been identified as as Ryo Yamaguchi of Victoria and Masashi Shintani of Vancouver.
Both men were 25 years old and originally from Japan.
The investigation into why they drowned continues.
