A three-car accident caused delays in Saanich early Sunday afternoon, as police redirected traffic around the intersection of Glanford and McKenzie.
The accident happened just after noon. Saanich police say a car travelling north on Glanford Avenue collided with a southbound car turning to left onto McKenzie Avenue. One of the cars then clipped a third vehicle stopped at the light.
Sgt. Alan Gurzinski says three people were taken to hospital to be checked over, but there didn’t appear to be any serious injuries.
With the busy long weekend on the roads, Gurzinski said it’s a reminder to drive with caution.
“Any time, not just this weekend, be very careful of your turns, make sure you’ve got enough lead time to make your turn safely, and please watch your speed,” he said.
“I’ve been out there and I’m getting a lot of speeders today and it’s one of those things where if you go too fast you’ve got a lot further distance to stop and it’s going to be worse injuries.”
