Two men are in custody following after a man was reported shot in the face on board a boat in the Gorge Waterway.
RCMP boats continue to comb the water today after the incident.
Police responded to the Gorge, shortly after midnight, after hearing reports of a shooting.
Police, the Emergency Response Team, the fire department and the Harbour Authority responded.
The Gorge Trestle was closed over concerns for public safety.
At about 6 this morning, two men were taken into custody.
Police say the parties were all known to each other and the incident was isolated.
“Though we are still trying to figure out exactly what happened, who said what, who did what, we are confident at the this point in the investigation that the two persons of interest are, there’s no body else outstanding at this time and that this is an isolated incident that took place and that the public is not at risk,” says Sgt. Derek Tolmie.
The victim remains in hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The Gorge Trestle has been reopened.
