RCMP in Duncan are searching for those responsible for a break-in at the local SPCA on Wednesday.

Police believe it happened after 10 p.m. at the SPCA on Bell McKinnon Road.

A quantity of cash and donations were stolen and damage was done to some property.

Luckily, no animals were harmed during this incident, said Cst. Jeannine Beattie of the North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP.

But the impact on the community is significant because it’s hurting non-profit organizations.
