Sightings of Fin whales are extremely rare.
This is only the second time one has been seen in local waters in over 80 years.
Fin whales are the second largest mammals in the world.
This one was estimated to be 75 feet or almost 23 meters long, weighing up to 75 tons or 68 thousand kilograms.
