It was a case of cuteness overload today as The Victoria Humane Society held a huge puppy adoption event at the West Shore Town Centre.
The Victoria Humane Society has more than 40 puppies up for adoption right now, from six different litters.
There are smaller terrier mixes, medium Australian shepherd and spaniel mixes and larger lab/golden and shepherd/husky mixes.
The pregnant mamas all came in at the same time and with an unprecedented number of puppies and dogs, The Humane Society decided to host its first-ever double day puppy adoption event.
“Because we don’t have a facility they all have to be in foster homes, so it’s hard for people to go around each and every home so we thought if we had this event they could come see what we had and go home and fill out the adoption form and apply,” said Victoria Humane Society executive director Penny Stone.
Successful applicants will get to pick up their puppies next Saturday. The Humane Society is expecting at least 20 to 30 applications on each of the six litters.
