Could have done a better job explaining the changes
In last month’s budget, people with disabilities were told their monthly living rates were going up.
But the cost of a monthly bus pass was also increasing.
In spite of protests and complaints, the government has no plans to reverse their decision.
The premier says they could have done a better job explaining the changes.
“The government did a terrible job of really properly communicating the policy.”
But NDP Leader John Horgan says it demonstrates a pattern.
“Bad communications is often the place where people go when they’ve made bad decisions.
The HST was a bad decision that people blamed on bad communication.
This is a bad decision.
To take away mobility from vulnerable people with disabilities is a bad decision.
It’s not just bad communication.”
