Event runs for ten days featuring performers from around the world
Hundreds of performers have descended on Victoria for one of the most popular events of the summer season.
The 6th annual buskers festival kicks off today and runs for 10 days, featuring street performers from all over the world.
Tens of thousands of fans are expected to take it all in generating between 8 and 12 million dollars in economic activity.
John Vickers is the executive director of the festival.
“From what I understand the festival is now the second largest annual attraction in the city limits of Victoria, next to the Royal BC Museum.
I think in part because we’re a 10 days, multiple locations 10 hours a day so I’m sure that helps too.”
Performers include the winner of Sweden’s Got Talent, the number one hoola hoop from Australia and the Flying Dutchmen.
