Phillips sets new team goal scoring record but Royals fall in Kamloops

CHEK

The Victoria Royals dropped their second game in a row last night in Kamloops, as the Blazers scored four unanswered goals on route to the 5-2 comeback victory. The lone bright spot came from Royals super sophomore Matthew Phillips who knotched his 47th of the season, setting a new franchise record in goals. The Royals have already locked up a playoff spot, but sit only three points ahead of Portland for the first wildcard spot. The Portland Winterhawks have also played one less game than the Royals. Victoria aims for a better result Friday night for their second game against the blazers in three nights.
