After capturing the WHL Rookie of the Year award in the 2015-16 season, Victoria Royal’s forward Matthew Phillips elevated his game to yet another level for the 2016-17 campaign. His 50 goals and 90 points led the Royals in both categories, and earlier today he was named a WHL Western Conference first team All-Star. Phillips joins Everett Silvertips goaltender Carter Hart, as the top goalie prospect will be a main focal point for the Royals entering game 1 of their best of seven playoff series Friday night.
