In addition to returning the creek and it’s bank to a more natural configuration, pathways were added and an actual outdoor class room for the use of neighbouring Oak Bay High School.
Bowker Creek is 8 km in length, originating around the UVic area and also Cedar Hill Golf Course, meandering through Saanich, Victoria and Oak Bay. 70% of the creek flows underground in numerous culverts and the area affected by this revitalization is approximately 250 metres.
Mayor Jensen applauded the ability of so many partners coming together to create such a valuable eco-system in the community.
