Pedestrian struck while walking in a marked crosswalk
Nanaimo RCMP are investing after a pedestrian was seriously injured in a hit and run.
Police officers saw a black car hit a man in a crosswalk.
But the driver fled the scene without stopping.
It happened around 11:40 pm Friday on Front Street by the Port Place Theatre.
Police say the vehicle drove around the victim and later side-swiped a taxi.
The victim, a 30-year-old Nanaimo man, spent the night in hospital.
The vehicle is question is a mid-size black car driven by an older woman with white hair.
It may have sustained front end damage and there could be yellow paint on the driver side.
