The Mustard Seed will collect turkeys and all the trimmings for Christmas dinner for the less fortunate over the next few weeks
The Mustard Seed also needs to raise 60% of the money it needs to operate for the rest of the year.
Brent Palmer has been with the Mustard Seed for more than 30 years, and he’s concerned the shelves and bins will not be full enough for Christmas.
The quota for the Turkey Drive this year is 1200 birds but only 20 have been donated to this point.
Palmer says he is seeing more seniors at the food bank these days, and more of the working poor.
Today, a year after it was closed, the Mustard Seed re-opened its Drop-In Centre — the Hospitality House is open from 8:15am – 12:30pm Monday to Friday.
