Man facing several charges after Victoria police pepper spray and taser a suspect
A Victoria man is facing several charges and a VicPD officer is recovering from injuries after an impaired driving arrest on Saturday night.
Police say they spotted a man driving a truck erratically at the intersection of Government and Fisgard Streets just after 10 p.m. on Saturday, April 30th.
When officers attempted to pull the truck over, the driver refused to stop, but then attempted to park his truck.
During his attempt to park his truck, officers observed the vehicle strike and knock over a parking sign.
Police say the driver became confrontational and combative with officers, who then used a taser and pepper spray to take him into custody.
The suspect was not injured during the arrest, but one officer received a facial injury.
41-year-old Kit Warren now faces two charges of obstruction of a police officer and two impaired driving charges.
