About a hundred eager job-seekers gathered at the Fairmont Empress in Victoria today in what was one of the biggest job fairs in the hotel’s history.
The newly renovated landmark hotel is looking to hire about sixty new employees to work in variety of roles.
Vacant positions include everything from housekeeping and bartenders to security and restaurant management.
“It’s really exciting in Victoria, because we’re able to find people who have grown up here” explains Jillian Denotter-Minter, recruitment manager at Fairmont Resorts and Hotels.
“We’re really lucky to work in the landmark that we do” adds Denotter-Minter, “and we’re looking for people who want to join that team and be part of the Empress as a whole and be a part of our family.”
