Kelsey Goodwin lends her talents to a worldwide event called The School Sessions.
A couple of years ago, Kelsey volunteered with a group of other photographers at an orphanage in Port Au Prince. She and others were emotionally affected by the devastation to the country as a whole and the children’s school house in particular.
Upon their return, one of the group, a photographer in Vancouver created a fundraising event called The School Sessions, where photogs around the world donate their session money in the month of April.
“ Last year was the first year of the organization’s existence… we were able to raise $45,000. So we were able to buy the land for the new school and this year the goal is to raise $150,000 to actually start building the school.”
Kelsey’s particular event is called the Headshot-A-Thon coming up on Apr 24th & 25th.
“… one day its gonna be location based, a more modern approach & then we’ll have a studio day as well. I’m hoping to get at least 60 people involved.”
You need to book ahead. You can call Kelsey at 778.678.5357 or book on-line at kgoodphoto.com.
