Island man will remain in Colorado as court date on sex assault charges is delayed.
A Vancouver Island man, facing charges in a brutal sex attack on a woman in a U.S. hotel, has had his preliminary hearing delayed.
30-year old Colby Messer, of Langford, was due to appear in a Denver, Colorado courtroom tomorrow.
That hearing was pushed forward to August 4th after his lawyer asked for a continuance.
Messer allegedly met a woman in a bar while in Denver for a football game last November.
The 27 year old says Messer and three of his friends sexually assaulted her with a number of items in the room.
He is facing six felony charges of sex assault.
The other men also from Vancouver Island have not been charged.
