There’s no doubt about it, it was a warm one around Vancouver Island, as daily temperature records fell all from one to the other. Keith Vass reports.
Port Alberni was the hot spot, with the mercury hitting 35 Celsius, breaking a mark of 33 set in 2015. Records were also set in Campbell River, Tofino and Victoria, where the old record of 30 Celsius dating back to 1940 was topped by two degrees.
The hot spell that settled in today should be a short one, but we do expect at least one more day of record-breaking temperatures Friday before highs in the mid- to high-20s re-establish themselves over the weekend.
