After two months of treatment at the Vancouver Aquarium Marine Mammal Rescue Centre injured seal pup “Maelle Ricker” has been released into the wild
The pup was found in December with nylon fishing net cutting deeply into her neck.
She has been rehabilitated and released into the Burrard Inlet.
She was named in honour of snowboarder Maelle Ricker.
Ricker was the fist Canadian woman to win an Olympic Gold Medal on home soil.
