Hundreds turn out, but many are turned away
The protest started before the public hearing, with more than a hundred expressing their disatisfaction with the process.

There are 250 people inside the meeting room, with more than 100 waiting to get inside.
Everyone here says they are concerned about the effects of the Kinder Morgan pipeline expansion for Vancouver Island and the south coast.
The National Energy Board gave conditional approval to the company to triple its pipeline capacity between Edmonton and Burnaby, that would
increase oil tanker traffic to 34 a month, from five.
