A dead humpback whale has been towed from a Cowichan Bay dock after it washed up there Tuesday.
The humpback was first spotted in Cowichan Bay on Saturday, and appeared to be emaciated and lethargic.
It wasn’t seen again until it washed up near a commercial dock Tuesday.
The department of fisheries and oceans says it’s a juvenile female, about 7.5 metres long.
A necropsy is now being performed but there is no sign of human-inflicted injury.
