A dead young grey whale has been found washed up on a beach in Ucluelet.
The whale is on the beach at Wya Point Resort in Ucluelet.
It washed ashore yesterday afternoon but it’s not yet clear how it died.
The Department of Fisheries and Oceans have been notified and will examine the carcass.
Every March and April, up to 17,000 grey whales pass the area en route from their winter home on Mexico’s Baja Peninsula to the Arctic Ocean and Bering Sea.
