From e-learning to eye care, The Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce recognized the best in the local business community this evening.
The Greater Victoria Business Awards were handed out in 13 categories ranging from best new business, to business of the year, best employer and best employee.
“Their hard work and dedication is a testament to the great work being done in our community,” said Al Hasham, Chair of The Chamber.
CHEK News anchor Stacy Ross emceed the event at the Fairmont Empress Hotel.
It was capped off with this year’s lifetime achievement award presented to Murray and Lynda Farmer.
It is recognition for the couple’s many business and philanthropic endeavors particularly in education.
“Advanced education has been our passion and we’ve been really privileged to be able to work with some really great teams,” said Murray Farmer.
“I think the thing for us always has been the different people we’ve met through our association with different organizations, they’ve really enriched our lives,” said Lynda Farmer
“They’re people we may not have otherwise encountered so it makes getting involved special.”
2016 marks the 15th year the Greater Victoria Business Awards have been handed out.
