A gas leak shut down two main streets in Downtown Victoria today and snarled traffic during the morning rush hour.
City crews responding to the leak shut down Fort and View between Blanshard and Douglas this morning
after a leak was discovered on the 700-block of fort at about 7:15 am
The closure was no treat for drivers in downtown Victoria this morning, causing severe delays and detours.
Those on scene said it appears a copper line was cut causing damage to the adjacent gas line.
The streets did re-open about an hour later at 8:30 am
The suspected vandalism that caused the leak is under investigation.
