A former Greater Victoria area high school teacher has been barred from teaching again in British Columbia after admitting to sending inappropriate text messages to a former student.
Anthony Drolet admitted to sending numerous text and twitter messages of a sexual nature to a person referred to as “Student A” in May and June of 2013.
A consent resolution agreement from the B.C. Commissioner for Teacher Regulation published on its website shows Drolet admitted to the conduct.
According to the document, Drolet was employed by School District No. 61 (Greater Victoria).
In June 2013, he was suspended while an investigation was carried out and his employment was terminated that August.
Drolet relinquished his teaching certificate in October 2014 and, according to the terms of the consent resolution agreement, he is now barred from teaching again B.C.
