Foul play not involved in fishing line incident that injured motorcyclists
A concerning incident involving fishing line strung across a Central Saanich Road turned has turned out to be an accident.
It happened in the 8200-block of Thompson Place last weekend.
A couple on a motorcycle felt stings on their arms and legs and noticed that a wire had become tangled in their windshield.
Though initially thought to be a deliberate act, Central Saanich Police now say it was all an accident.
It turns out an individual was towing his boat along that stretch of road and fishing line became caught a low-hanging tree branch.
Police remind those towing boats to store their fishing gear safely.
