There is one Canadian passenger listed among the 56 on board an EgyptAir flight that vanished from radar early Thursday morning
EgyptAir reports Flight MS804 carrying 66 people including 10 crew left Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris just after 11 pm local time.
According to a list released by EgyptAir, the passengers include 30 Egyptians, 15 French, two Iraquis, as well as individuals from Algeria, Belgium, Britain, Chad, Canada, Kuwait, Portugal, Saudi Arabia and Sudan.
The Canadian Embassy in Cairo posted a message on social media saying “We are aware of reports that one Canadian is on board flight MS804 We are working closely with Egyptian officials to learn more.”
Associated Press reports Greece has joined the search and rescue operation for the EgyptAir flight.
Two aircraft, one C-130 Hercules and one early warning aircraft, have been dispatched, officials at the Hellenic national defence general staff said.
