A truck spilled tree debris onto a front lawn in Langford after it rolled onto its side on July 25.

A dump truck rolled over and spilled tree debris onto the front lawn of a home in Langford Tuesday morning.

At around 9 a.m., the truck, which was carrying branches and brush, rolled onto its side in the 1000-block of McCallum Road near the Trans-Canada Highway.

West Shore RCMP and Langford Fire were called to the scene. Traffic in the area was backed up as crews worked to get the truck out of the area.

Langford Fire Chief Chris Aubrey said the truck was leaking some diesel fuel. An estimated 30 litres of fuel is being cleaned up by the City of Langford.

“We got some absorbent pads down to try and collect the diesel,” Aubrey said.

Aubrey said the diesel spilled into a gravel area along the fence line and not in the lawn.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured and RCMP are investigating.
