They don’t write songs like they used to…but they sure sound great when you hear them

On stage now at the Roxy on Quadra it’s RED, HOT COLE! The Music of Cole Porter.

It’s the Blue Bridge Summer Theatre Company’s final production of the season and it’s a good one.

The production is creator/director Darcy Evans theatrical revue of 35 Cole Porter tunes, with a script that has a definite wink to the city of Victoria.

The four principals in the production are lead by former Victorian Sara-Jeanne Hosie who now calls Stratford home.

The Claremont grad makes the acting, singing & dancing look effortless and probably should, having grown up on stage as the daughter of Bill & Sylvia Hosie.

Her performance partner is a longtime friend and fellow west coaster Kholby Wardell whose performance is energetic and spot-on.

Jennifer Gillis and Jacob Woike complete the cast and hit their character’s on the nose.

If you’re familiar with the memorable music of Cole Porter you’ll love this show. If you’re not, you might be in for a pleasant surprise.

RED, HOT COLE! runs until Aug 13 at the Roxy on Quadra.
