A warning tonight about an aggressive bank scam that is making the rounds on Vancouver Island.
If you’ve received an email, text or robo-call from Coast Capital Savings, the message was from scammers trying to get your money.
The phishing scam, which will include a link in a text or email, will ask you to update or validate information or it could say your account has been frozen.
But even if it looks legitimate, don’t click on the link.
It could take you to a cloned replica of the website, which has resulted in some customers falling victim to the scam, or cause malware to be installed on your phone or computer.
Coast Capital says it would never ask for personal information in a text or email — or call you to ask for personal information.
If you receive one of these messages, delete it and call Coast Capital to report the scam.
