What to do with the open spaces on either side of the yet to be completed Johnson Street Bridge were the focus of a City of Victoria open house this evening.
The public spaces will be built two years from now on the spots being taken up by the existing bridge.
The City gathered public input back in 2012 and recently held a design workshop based on what was learned.
Those designs were on display today
They feature such amenities as a small boat dock, space for artistic performances and places to view the harbour.
“This is a fabulous opportunity to create some new waterfront public space in the city,” said Jonathan Tinney of the City of Victoria.
“We’ve got a few concepts to look at and we want to get some feedback”
The public is invited to have a look at the concepts and weigh-in via an on-line survey.
