CHEK News reported on a number of instances in tonight’s newscast where people have risked everything to save their four legged family members.
So what about you? Would you risk your life to save your pet? Here’s what some of you had to say, to our cameras, and on social media.
“Swim across an ocean…jump off a cliff…ok, maybe I wouldn’t jump off a cliff…but…just about anything – he’s pretty special.”
“I would do absolutely anything to save my pet. I would likely break down my own doors if my house was on fire and he was trapped inside.”
“I would do everything I could that would be reasonable for my pet where they would have good quality of life. So, if I were saving my pet, but they wouldn’t have the quality of life, I don’t think I would make that decision.”
“Might not be recommended, but I’d go into a burning building to save my dogs. Absolutely love them. They’re the best part of my life.”
And from social media, Jan emailed to say: “Yes. Pets are just as important. They share their life with you. It’s only fitting you risk your life to save them.”
From Facebook, Nata writes: “Would you save your child? Of course you would. Pets are family just as much as your mother, father, siblings or children. Why wouldn’t you make sure EVERYONE is safe?”
And Cora posts: “No way. I grew up on a farm and understand that animals have a purpose.”
And here’s the results of our webpoll: 73 per cent of you would risk your life to save your pet, 27 per cent would not. And that is tonight’s CHEK Point.
