There were no injuries after a car smashed into the popular fast food chain in Victoria Thursday morning on Douglas Street.
Luckily no one was hurt, this morning when a car smashed into a popular Victoria fast food outlet.
It happened at about 10:30 am in front of the Quizno’s in the 2900 block of Douglas Street.
Police say an elderly woman, drove her car up onto the sidewalk into a support post and then into the large glass panel in front of the restaurant.
“When she attempted to apply the breaks her foot got caught between the gas pedal and the brake causing her to accelerate over the sidewalk,” says Victoria Police Cst. Steven Twardy.
No one was on the sidewalk at the time and there were no reported injuries.
The beam was knocked off its base and that section of sidewalk was blocked off.
City engineers have been called in to inspect the damage.
Police say alcohol was not a factor.
