Veteran marijuana activist Ted Smith leads the six groups who’ll lobby the provincial government
A team of cannabis organizations and individuals gathered in Victoria today with a goal of creating an inclusive, independent industry in BC.
The BC Independent Cannabis Alliance consists of six working groups, led by veteran marijuana activist Ted Smith.
He’ll gather information and lobby the provincial government to take charge of the both the production and distribution of cannabis.
Dieter MacPherson speaks for the B.C. Independent Cannabis Alliance.
“Obviously we have a provincial election coming up we would like to see all three major parties talking about B.C.’s economic interest.
We don’t want the federal government to hand B.C. a set of regulations that do not embrace what is a traditional economy.”
The Alliance also believes federal prohibitions should be replaced with community regulations that allow local businesses to operate responsibly.
