A boil water advisory is now in place for Crofton after a rupture of the water main from the Cowichan River
The water main broke around 7:00 a.m. Wednesday.
The line services the Catalyst Crofton mill and the town of Crofton.
The mill is shut down for 72 hours.
Until the line is repaired, residents will draw their water from Crofton Lake.
The boil water advisory went into effect 5 p.m. Wednesday and will remain in place until further notice.
