BC Ferries to resume between Port Hardy and Bella Coola

CHEK

BC Ferries says it will resume ferry service between Port Hardy and Bella Coola in the summer of 2018.

Ferries now has approval to purchase a used 17 year old ship to use on the route.

The vessel with carry at least 150 passengers and crew and have room for 35 vehicles.

The ten hour long trip will run five times per week.

Tourism operators in Port Hardy and Bella Coola say their businesses were decimated after the provincial government reduced service on the route.

That was part of a major cut to ferry services three years ago.
