Australian Rules Football growing on Vancouver Island

CHEK

You may not have heard about it yet, but the game of Australian Rules Football has branched out to the Island.

The contact sport made an appearance at Lansdowne Middle School this weekend, as the Victoria Sharks hosted round 6 of the BC Australian Football League.

The game features 18 players a side and is played on an oval-shaped field.

The sport is in its early stages here on Vancouver Island, but the Victoria Sharks are attempting to change that.
