The waters of Victoria’s harbour were a dangerous place to be Saturday, as hundreds of “pirates” were on the search for booty and they weren’t afraid to engage in battle.
More than 300 special needs children and their families boarded “pirate ships” thanks to volunteer captains and crew at HMCS Malahat. It was for Variety the Childrens Charity’s 12th annual “Boat for Hope.”
The kids were taken out to sea, where they became pirates for the day, before returning to the Canadian Coast Guard station transformed into “treasure island, there there was more pirate fun and entertainment to be had.
The event has raised $1.2 million since it began.
