The BC Securities Commission organized an elaborate musical presentation to highlight Fraud Awareness Month
BCSC had a half dozen well known singers and a handful of recognizable actors to remind the tea & coffee shop patrons to reject & report investment fraud.
According to the commission’s communications director Pamela McDonald, “The point of the musical is to use humour to draw attention to a very important issue, investment fraud.”
“To help people understand the importance of recognizing investment fraud, rejecting it and reporting it to us at the BC securities commission.”
Singers included LA-based Diane Pancel Pearce, Victoria’s Duncan Meiklejohn, April Gislason, plus Vancouver Canucks anthem guy Mark Donnelly.
The one entertainer who looked the most familiar from his many commercial appearance for BCSC was Michael Dewilde who portrays ‘David’ , the fraudulent investment advisor.
