The SPCA is investigating a case of alleged animal cruelty on the Tsartlip First Nation that is spreading across social media sites.
The Sidney North Saanich RCMP received a request from the SPCA to check on a dog after these pictures began circulating on Facebook last night.
The dog was reported to be tied to a cinder block in a culvert on the Tsartlip First Nation.
Police say the dog has been found, is safe and is now with its owner.
SPCA will be following up on this matter.
RCMP say confrontations today between individuals looking for the dog and residents of the Tsartlip First Nation may have resulted in violence.
Police say they are now investigating two reports of people being attacked with bear spray.
