The group unveiled the carving Wednesday in preparation of the event.
The totem pole was rolled out of the tent and placed on the back of a transport truck for the celebration.
Thousands are expected to attend as the totem pole is raised in front of the Victoria Native Friendship Centre.
Six youth worked with master carver Moy Sutherland to create the piece.
The theme is transformation, a fundamental part what the Victoria Native Friendship Centre provides to Aboriginal people.
This will be the third totem pole placed in front of the centre. It will be raised tomorrow starting at noon.
The timing coincides with the Aboriginal Youth Conference being held in Victoria this week.
