Tea Party Weekend closes out with teacup race Sunday afternoon
One of the most popular events of the season is set to get underway.
The 54th Oak Bay Tea Party runs this weekend at Willows Beach and is expected to draw tens of thousands of visitors.
The midway is just getting up to steam.
There’s will be all the usual attractions and fun, including the baron of beef sandwiches and tea tent.
In addition to kayak rides, the weekend events include an air show a sea rescue demonstration
The always popular bath tub races wind up the weekend on Sunday afternoon.
Sandy Germain says the weekend is full of fun.
“The mayors floating teacup race is on Sunday and you don’t want to miss this because the three challengers are three of the marching band directors from Oak Bay High, Spectrum and Reynolds.
So this should be good.
I’m ready for the Tea Party and I hope everyone comes down here and sees what a wonderful event.
The midway will be open til 9 pm tonight and the Tea Party will be in full “Pour” from 7 til 9 Saturday and 7 til 7 on Sunday.
