WATCH: A disturbing incident on the West Shore Tuesday night involving a grandmother driving drunk
A 56-year-old Sooke woman is facing impaired driving charges after being stopped Tuesday night in Langford.
Around 8:00 p.m. RCMP received a report of a pickup truck driving erratically on Sooke Road near Humpback Road.
After she was pulled over police say the woman displayed strong signs of alcohol impairment.
She had her 4-year-old grandson in the front seat beside her.
He was turned over to a responsible adult.
No one was hurt and police credit the person who reported the incident with preventing a potential tragedy.
“We credit the caller who was able to provide the details necessary to our members to look out for the vehicle and take an impaired driver off the road,” said West Shore RCMP Constable Alex Berube.
The woman is facing charges of impaired driving and received an immediate roadside suspension.
