Firefighters quickly extinguished a shed fire in Mill Bay this morning.
The call came in shortly after ten a.m. of a structure fire at the Enrico Winery in Mill Bay.
A fire engulfed a shed with a fifth wheel trailer inside.
As the crews arrived, propane tanks inside the shed exploded.
But Mill Bay Fire Chief Ron Beck says they managed to quickly knock the fire down.
“It was fully involved.
You could see smoke quite clear.
Black smoke coming down the Cowichan Valley.
So, I figured we had a little bit more than a shed fire.
I was relieved to find that it was just a shed fire when we got on scene.”
Responding firefighters included members from Mill Bay and Cowichan Bay.
