A unique program at the University of Victoria is celebrating a special anniversary today.
“Uni 101” has been offering non credit courses for the past ten years.
The program is designed to allow access to university for people who may have previously been excluded.
Course participants study topics ranging from Plato to psychology, and learn about themselves in the process.
Vanessa Stetton enrolled soon after learning about the program.
“From what I heard about the program initially, I knew it was right for me to ignite a journey of self discovery and confidence building and demystify the university.”
Since its beginning as a single course ten years ago, “Uni 101”, has now expanded to three different programs serving hundreds of students.
