The graphic design for BC Ferries’ first Salish Class vessel has been revealed.
Esquimalt Nation’s Darlene Gait designed the artwork that will adorn the exterior and interior of the Salish Orca.
Gait’s work depicts a pod of orcas moving through the water.
It was chosen from a shortlist of nine artists.
Three Salish Class ferries are currently under construction in Gdansk, Poland.
The Salish Orca will sail on the Comox – Powell River.
It will go into service this year.
The Salish Eagle will be delivered later in 2016.
The Salish Raven arrives in 2017.
Both the Salish Eagle and Salish Raven will be used in the Southern Gulf Islands.
