There was a treat of a wildlife watchers in the Nanaimo area.
A group of orcas familiar to whale watchers on the South Island were spotted near Nanaimo, yesterday.
Fisheries officials confirm that it is J Pod.
Its believed that the killer whales are in Dodds Narrows taking advantage of herring stocks, attracting the chinook salmon which is their favourite food.
